Questions and Answers.
Furniture For France is all about good quality furniture, service and convenience. You simply select the furniture from the brochure and then leave the rest to us. We will order the furniture to your exact specification, collect, deliver and install it in your new home in France. We will keep you informed every step of the way and guarantee the delivery on the agreed delivery date, to the hour. Can there be a more convenient way to furnish your property in France? If any item of furniture fails to satisfy for any reason, we will replace that item without charge or refund your deposit without question. We hope that gives you the reassurance to buy with confidence. That, briefly is what we do, but below are more detailed questions and answers that may help fill answer any queries.
Question: Do the prices quoted for the furniture include VAT?
Answer: Yes
Question: How does the furniture come?
Answer: It is all-solid, it is not flat packed. Only items like beds have to be assembled on site, and wardrobes come in sections to negotiate stairways, but that is all.
Question: Other than the cost of the furniture, do you make charge for your time?
Answer: , No. The furniture prices quoted include any labour costs involved in delivering the furniture. The only other cost is a small delivery charge, see below.
Question: If I decide to order furniture how much notice do I need to give for a specific delivery date?
Answer: As much as possible but as a general rule 3- 4 weeks, there is never a problem getting the furniture, this can be arranged within a week or two, but the thing to bear in mind is the actual delivery. If you require a delivery during a busy period, i.e. half term, holidays etc you should consider booking that date as early as you can, even if you have not made your final furniture selection.
Question: How do we pay?
Answer: We require a 50% deposit of the total invoiced amount and this is only payable 21 days before agreed delivery date . The balance is payable on delivery to your property in France. We accept payment by Bank Transfer or UK cheque only
Question: I am not able to be present when you deliver, is that a problem?
Answer: No, although we obviously need to be able to gain access to the property, so contact with a local key holder needs to be arranged and we will be happy to liase with your French contact regards timing of delivery, or if this is not possible then a key may have to supplied. Accurate and detailed directions to the property are essential
Question: We like the pine furniture designs but the colour finish shown in the brochure is not quite right for our property.
Answer: No problem, All the pine furniture (pages 1-67) is available in a Waxed, Spray (choice of 10) or Painted (choice of 5) finishes. Samples are available on request. All other furniture ranges are only available as shown
Question: How much can I expect to pay for delivery?
Answer: Generally this will depend on the value and volume of goods ordered and where they have to go. Once you have decided on the order we will tell you exactly what the delivery cost will be. We simply calculate the total cost of the delivery run and apportion the cost depending on value/volume of your order and where it has to be delivered. The delivery charge is based on simply covering the direct costs involved in that run, it is a non-profit making part of the business, but by sharing the costs with other customers we keep the cost to a minimum. As a guide northern France £99, Mid France £150, Southern France/Alps £199. There are no hidden extras on this delivery charge, what you are quoted is what you pay. Special offers sometimes apply, please ask for details.
Question: We have just bought a new house in France and although we need new furniture from you, we would like a few of our own items taken over. Can you help?
Answer: We are always willing to discuss this; it very often depends on space available on the vehicle at the time. Again the earlier this is booked the better. It certainly makes sense to have everything delivered at one time. i.e. Bedding, crockery, misc boxes as well as larger items if required. We would be pleased to quote separately for this. We can collect direct from you in the UK, but this may not always be possible, so we have a safe storage point in the South of England where your items can be dropped off.
Question: We need sofas, but are not to sure of what fabric colour/design we want.
Answer: We will be pleased to send you the full range of loose covered fabric swatches or leather swatches from which you can choose.
Question: What if after making our selection, on delivery, we find that one particular item does not fit or we simply do not do not have the room.
Answer: No problem we offer a 100% refund on your deposit for that item and take the item back.
Question; How can I be sure a sofa will be comfortable and right for me without being able to try it first?
Answer: We realise a sofa has to be comfortable so again we offer a 100% money back guarantee if the sofa fails to satisfy on any aspect of design, size or comfort.
