How much notice for a delivery?
As a general rule 3- 4 weeks, although it has been known to be as little as 10days! However if you require a delivery during a busy period, i.e. half term, holidays etc you should consider booking that date as early as you can, even if you have not made your final furniture selection. We have furniture consignments over from the UK every month, so it depends how you might fit into these schedules. We distribute throughout France from our base near Brive, with our own vehicles.
What is the best way to proceed with ordering?
Ideally, once you have reached this stage, simply e mail your order along with the furniture codes, finishes required for pine and cover required or the sofas and of course delivery dates. We will then reply to confirm everthing by e mail and if anything needs clarification at this point we will get in touch. If you prefer to telephone to place the order, no problem but we will still confirm the order by e mail as it is always best you see it in writing, so everything is clear.
How much can I expect to pay for delivery?
Delivery starts from just £99 for any quantity and increases to a maximum of £195 depending on your location in France.
Do the prices quoted for the furniture include VAT?
Yes
How do we pay?
A 50% deposit is required, this is payable at least 21 days before agreed delivery date. The balance is payable on delivery to your property in France. We accept payment by Bank Transfer or UK cheque in £’s or Euros
Other than the cost of the furniture and delivery (see below), do you make charge for your time?
No. There are no other charges.
How does the furniture arrive?
Everything is solid, no flat packs here. Everything is boxed for protection. Only items like beds and wardrobes that have to be assembled on site are in sections. All packaging is removed following installation.
What about actual delivery timing, how does that work?
The delivery date or “window”, will all be programmed when the order is placed. A week or so prior to deliver we will contact you to confirm everything is on schedule and give you a time for delivery! You will not have to wait around for the driver to turn up; time is valuable for us as well as yourselves.
I am not able to be present when you deliver, is that a problem?
No, we are happy to liaise with your local key holder to ensure a problem free delivery.
We like the pine furniture designs but just need to choose the right finish.
No problem, All the pine furniture is available in waxed, lacquered or painted finishes, these are shown on the website, but if you would like actual samples sent, please let us know.
We really like a sofa design but cannot decide on the covers?
Sofas are a very personal choice and are a real focal point of any living area. So we need to get this right for you. We will be only too pleased to send you swatch samples for any sofa design, we just need to know roughly what colour (s) you have in mind to narrow things down. It can take 2-3 weeks to go through this process, so please allow time when planning a delivery.
We have just bought a new house in France and although we intend to buy new furniture from you, but would like a few of our own items taken over. Can you help?
We have reliable contacts with the removal business who specialise in this type of small quantity removal work, as well as providing a safe drop off point in the UK. Simply provide details of what needs collecting, its collection and delivery points and we will be pleased to quote.
Please note
Almost all deliveries are one man, to keep delivery costs to a minimum. For heavier items there may be occasions when we may a need a hand to unload. Two man teams can be sent out if required but this will increase the cost of delivery enormously. Imagine 2 men all the way to the south of France for a 30 minute drop off!! We do of course have trolleys, sack trucks etc to ease the amount of lifting required. Please also be aware of furniture dimensions if access could be difficult, particularly for bedroom furniture/mattresses and sofas. If you need to talk through this aspect of the delivery, we are only too pleased to discuss things. We have never been beaten in 10 years, where there is a will, there is a way!

Refund Policy
At Furniture for France we strive to ensure customer satisfaction and are 100% certain that you will be delighted with your furniture. If for any reason you are not satisfied with any item on delivery you have the opportunity there and then to have it returned without quibble and your deposit returned in full. Once you have accepted delivery and payment made you have 30 days from date of delivery in which to report problems with your furniture and we ask you to follow up your initial contact in writing by way of an email.
Product Specifications
We and our suppliers have a policy of continuous product development and reserve the right to amend the specifications of any goods or products without prior notice in relation to future sales. All our furniture is made from quality natural wood and accordingly appearances may vary. Some woods will mellow with age and exposure to sunlight. When you are purchasing our furniture you are buying handmade furniture where varying degrees of wood shade will occur. Leather sofa products are made from quality natural leather and accordingly they may not be uniform in colour or texture. Only the finest hides are selected but they will show natural marks and scars on the hide. We endeavour to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of the pictures or photographs that are shown. Many conditions such as monitor settings can affect the colouring of items in a picture.
Measurements
We will not accept any liability for any extra costs incurred by you as a result of incorrect or incomplete measurements or information supplied by you. If any item is too big for any doorway/stairwell etc as a result of inaccurate measurement on your behalf, we are not liable to return the goods and full payment is expected.
Prices
All prices include VAT, where appropriate, at the prevailing rate. You can pay by Bank transfer or Cheque in UK £ Sterling or Euros. The price of any product is the price in force at the date and time of your order. A 50% deposit is payable 21 days prior to delivery, the balance on delivery by cheque or by Bank Transfer
Delivery
Goods can be delivered 7 days a week. You are responsible for confirming there is a safe means of access from the public highway to the place of delivery. If you are unable, for whatever reason, to take delivery of your goods on the confirmed delivery date arranged, you must inform us at least 48hrs in advance so that another date can be booked.
Privacy
We may occasionally contact you with the latest products or offers by email. We will only ever email you from a furnitureforfrance.co.uk address. Please let us know if you no longer wish to receive these e mails and we will delete your details from our database. Any personal information we collect will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and other applicable laws. The details we collect will be used to process your order and to provide after sales service. We will never supply these details to a third party.
